Door to door, not time in the vehicle
The flight from Paris to London is in the air for under an hour. The train takes more than twice that, and still gets you there first. This works out the whole journey for every mode that runs between two places, and shows you which part of it is the airport.

What is filed and what is not
Only the time in the vehicle is ever filed. The access leg, the wait and the leg out at the far end are derived on every corridor, and the table says which is which line by line.
We hold filed timetables for 545 corridors. Everything else on this page is derived.
How this is worked out
Time in the vehicle comes from the same engine that answers the search box, so this tool and a results page always agree. Where a corridor has a filed timetable we use the filed departure and arrival instead, and say so.
The access allowance is the one published on the methodology page: 95 minutes for an airport, 45 for a ferry port and 22 for a station or coach stop, at each end of the journey. This tool splits each allowance into the travel to the terminal and the time spent inside it, a split of our own. The figures are:
- Flight: 45 minutes to the terminal, 50 inside it, 95 at each end.
- Ferry: 25 minutes to the terminal, 20 inside it, 45 at each end.
- Train: 14 minutes to the terminal, 8 inside it, 22 at each end.
- Coach: 14 minutes to the terminal, 8 inside it, 22 at each end.
Public transport reproduces the published allowance exactly. A taxi takes a quarter off the travel leg and walking adds two fifths to it, and neither changes the time inside the terminal. Both multipliers are assumptions of this tool.
Every answer is worked out for 28 September 2026, the service date the filed snapshots were taken for.

Every result carries a components array of five entries, each with its own evidence value of filed or derived. The shape is stable at version 1.0.0: fields may be added, never removed or redefined.
Rate limited to 60 requests a minute per address. Over that it answers 429 with a Retry-After header.
