www.archives.saltresearch.org/R/QETRM7R3C38IBCM5LGHKSXI6A... Bankalar Street was the first street to be built in district of Ulus during the construction of the new capitol Ankara. As the original financial district of Ankara, the street was composed of large monumental buildings, mostly built between 1926-1934. The first building to go up in 1926 was the Ottoman Bank, designed by Guilio Mongeri. For the same street Mongeri also designed the İş Bank General Headquarters and Ziraat Bank. Being major examples of the First National Architecture Movement, these buildings stand out for their cratfmanship as well as their use of classical Ottoman forms. Construction contnued with the designs of Clemens Holzmeister in 1930-1934 for the Central Bank and the Bank of Estates and Orphans. Differing from the previous buildings, these two banks have refined classical characteristics.

Where these numbers come from

Places, coordinates, operators, which operator serves which pair, and every distance on this page are real and come from open data. Where a corridor has a filed timetable the departure times are real too, and ferry fares are the prices the operators publish themselves.

Derived from service area No carrier record names this exact pair. The operators listed publish a service area covering both places at a distance their mode plausibly carries people, which is evidence that the corridor is served and not evidence of a specific service. Pages state which, because presenting the two as the same thing would be dishonest.

Where no operator publishes a fare for a corridor, the price here is our own estimate, worked out from the real distance and the real operator through a fare curve that follows lead time, day of the week and season. It tells you roughly what the journey costs. It is not a seat anyone has agreed to sell, and the payment step will not take it.
